The Grand Crew comfortably feeds up to 15 people. When it comes to quantity, there is no need to supplement, however you may want to add fresh seasonal fruit and herbs to brighten up the spread.
Grapes, fresh figs, berries, cherries, and apple slices are always good choices and the easiest to prepare if you go this route.
You can easily extend your party to 20+ people if you add fruit and a side salad or two, or crudité and dips.
The Grand Crew box includes five cheeses, four meats, and an array of six artfully paired accoutrements, bread, three types of crackers (one is gluten-free), three chocolate bars, and a 25-count package of bamboo cocktail napkins. Our products are sourced from around the world, of the highest quality, and carefully curated by us (yes, we taste everything) so that you can trust that each box will be a great experience.
*Products included are subject to change. To keep things interesting and to make sure we are providing fresh product in every box, we will switch it up a bit from time to time!
WARNING: The following descriptions are worthy of a chef’s table presentation and are meant to bring you delight, similar to what you would feel if you went on an international food tour. We are not responsible for any resulting hunger cravings. Read on, at your own risk.
The Showstopper – Featuring: Brillat Savarin Affiné (Fromagerie Delin)
This full 1.1lb wheel of pure decadence is a reason to throw a party in itself. Brillat Savarin Affiné is a triple cream, natural bloomy rind, cow's milk cheese from Burgundy, France. It’s a cheese monger’s favorite, imported in small quantities and sells out quickly to the finest restaurants. This beloved centerpiece is always a crowd pleaser, if you can manage to get your hands on it.
The Supporting Actors
Hard Aged Cheese – Featuring: Eewphoria (Cheeseland)
Hard, aged sheep's milk gouda from a collaboration by a Seattle based Dutch cheese importer and a farm in The Netherlands. Aged 12 months, for premium salty protein crystal satisfaction. The tasting experience develops from delicate and sweet to intense and salty, all in one bite.
Semisoft Aged Cheese – Featuring: Cabra LaMancha (Firefly Farms)
Bouncy, aged, washed-rind goat’s milk cheese, inspired by cheeses made in the Pyrenees mountains of Nothern Spain’s Basque region, made by artisans at a small farm in Accident, Maryland, US. The flavors are familiar, yet delicate and refined – smooth and silky with a subtle grassiness. This cheese won a Good Food Award in 2016.
Blue Cheese - Cambozola Black Label (Käserei Champignon)
Creamy, cow's milk, blue triple cream style cheese from Bavaria, Germany. Considered a cross between camembert and gorgonzola, the longer and colder aging of Cambozola Black Label creates the signature dark grey bloomy rind and its signature refined taste. Sweet, nutty, with mild blue veining, this cheese is subtle and satisfying.
Soft Ripened Cheese - Truffle Tremor (Cypress Grove)
Ripened from the outside in with its bloomy rind, this goat’s milk cheese is the best of 3 worlds – a mature and gooey creamline, a cakey and crumbly center, infused with real black truffle shavings throughout (no BS oil infusion here). Herbaceous yet tangy, indulgent yet refined. It’s an easy win all around.
Cured, Dry-Aged Meat – Featuring: Prosciutto di Parma DOP (Ferrarini)
Not all prepackaged prosciutto is created equal. Ours is sourced from a family-run business in Emilia-Romagna, Italy that has been perfecting its craft since 1956. A perfect balance of saltiness and delicate softness, this prosciutto seems to melt in your mouth.
Dry Cured Salamis – Featuring Elevation Artisan Meats:
Elevation charcuterie is all made of 100% humanely raised pork in Denver, CO. The makers are committed to combining old school, artisan production with creative flavors. The result is quality in product, clarity of flavor and balance in texture. If we had to pick a top 3 list of salami makers in the US, Elevation would certainly make the cut. We’ve tried all of their flavors and have chosen three for this box that will take your tastebuds on an epic journey.
Calabrese Salami - This spicy traditional recipe is made with imported Calabria Chiles and local wine. 2018 Good Food Awards Winner.
Mole Salami - Made with a spice blend of chilies, garlic, cinnamon and oregano. A local chocolate stout is used to add the authentic flavor derived from a slow cooked mole.
Black Truffle & Sea Salt Salami - Made with Italian black truffles, high quality sea salt and wine - paying respect to the greatest fungi on earth.
Pickles – Featuring: Cornichons (Trois Petits Cochons)
French style sour gherkins. Again, not all created equal. Although we love exploring different takes on a classic, sometimes an original just can’t be beat. Our choice is just that – classic, briny and crisp. Made by an artisanal producer in Brooklyn, NY.
Olives – Featuring: Natural Carmona Mix (Losada)
A selection of traditional olives typical to Southern Spain, the Carmona mix includes gordal, cuquillo, zorzalena and cornicabra olives in a natural cured brine, presenting a dynamic mix of sizes, colors, textures and flavors. Aceitunas Losada bring heirloom Spanish olives from farm to table with 60 years of family tradition, overseeing the full process from hand pruning and harvesting to curing and packaging in Carmona, Andalusia.
Almonds – Featuring: Marcona Almonds, Fried & Salted (Matiz)
Marcona almonds are known as the chef’s choice in almonds and add the perfect crunch to any charcuterie spread. Their high fat content delivers a superior creamy texture. Matiz fries them lightly and adds only a small amount of salt giving you the choice to serve as is or with a tiny drizzle of fresh olive oil and a sprinkle more of sea salt to taste. Made in Spain.
Savory Jam/Spread – Featuring: Shallot Confit with Red Wine (Quince & Apple)
Perfect balance of savory and subtle sweetness. You will want to put this on everything. This jam is an understated champion in this box and a customer favorite.
Sweet Jam/Spread – Featuring: Fig & Orange (Dalmatia)
Yes, of course you can find a fig spread on most cheeseboards. You can even find this one at plenty of grocery stores, but you usually pass it up because you’re just not sure about “adding the orange.” Right? Trust us, the citrus kick will have you doing a double take next time you see this accoutrement at a cheese counter. It even won a Sofi Gold award. Dalmatia is a brand from Croatia that encourages local farming to support Croatia’s local communities.
Mustard – Featuring: Whole Grain Dijon Mustard (Edmond Fallot)
A perfect balance of spicy and tart with a whole grain texture makes this mustard a friendly companion to elevate any dish, and in this case, any piece of charcuterie. Made in Burgundy, France by a family-owned business founded in 1840, Edmond Fallot is the only producer that still uses the traditional stone mill method to make whole grain mustard.
Bread – Featuring: Demi Baguette Twin-Pack (Essential Baking Co.)
As far as take-and-bake baguette goes, this is our top choice. Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside when baked. This take-and-bake boasts an impressive shelf life while maintaining a simple, clean, and Certified USDA Organic ingredients list. The next best thing to fresh baked.
Crackers – Featuring:
Olive Oil & Sel Gris Organic Sourdough Flatbread Bites (Rustic Bakery)
Delightfully simple, perfectly bite-sized, and strong enough to spread cheese on without breaking the cracker. These go with everything.
Apricot, Pistachio & Brandy Artisan Crisps (Rustic Bakery)
Fragrant, vibrant and full of flavor, these crisps are sure to elevate your cracker game. They aren’t like all the other crisps.
Rosemary Gluten-free Oat Thins (La Panzanella)
The best gluten-free cheese vessels we could find. Crunchy, sturdy and delicious. (Please note: This product is made with certified gluten free ingredients, but we cannot guarantee that they were manufactured in a gluten-free facility.)
Dark Chocolate Bar – Featuring: Maple and Maras Fleur De Sel (Qantu)
Iconic Canadian Maple and Peruvian Fleur de Sel, with Chuncho cacao – This dark chocolate is rich and creamy. Notes of sweet spices, banana, cinnamon, warm maple. Made in Montreal, Québec, Canada.
Milk Chocolate Bar – Featuring: Drifting Snowflake Jasmine Green Tea (Fossa)
Limited release bar in collaboration with rare tea curator, Pekoe & Imp. Made from Bi Tan Piao Xue, a traditional tea from Emei Mountain in the Sichuan Province, along with floral and mildly fruity Indonesian cacao. Made in Singapore.
White Chocolate Bar – Featuring: Salted Egg Cereal (Fossa)
Singaporeans' favourite tze-char dish in a chocolate bar. Homemade salted egg cereal sprinkled over a special white chocolate that has been slowly caramelized to attain a blond color and biscuit aroma. The addition of curry leaves makes it surprisingly savory. International Chocolate Awards 2017 Bronze Winner. Made in Singapore.
Cocktail Napkins (The Napkins)
We love cloth napkins but with large parties they can become unmanageable. We don’t want you to forget to buy cocktail napkins, so we’ve included our favorites as a little bonus. Made out of sustainable bamboo, they look and feel like fabric… it’s uncanny.
